Haley & Devon's Derby & Chelsea Dresses

I could have titled this, "I Work with the Most Amazing Ladies on Earth!" Seriously though, I'm so lucky to work with such great people! When I came home from vacation, I found out that both Haley and Devon were working on versions of my patterns for themselves. I guess I thought they might at some point consider making the patterns, but there's something about seeing them in action, spending their precious time and money, working away on patterns I designed. It was so flattering.

And then last Saturday when I came into Sew L.A. to teach, there they were, both in their dresses! They claim this was unplanned, but wow, what a wonderful coincidence! I of course snatched them for some photos, and be warned, if you try to get photos of these two ladies, below is what happens... a full RuPaul inspired posing session!

On Devon (on the left), she made the Derby Dress in view 2 and topped it with her own brown belt. The fabric is a super soft Japanese print with leaves, little houses, and other hidden motifs. Super cute and perfect for summer or fall if layered with a cardigan and worn with boots.

On Haley (on the right), she chose the Chelsea Dress in view 1 and changed up the contrast fabrics to have the collar match the body, which I love! Her fabric for the sleeves and yoke is a dreamy double gauze from Nani Iro and the rest is a soft black linen. Absolutely adorable!

I love these girls so much and am humbled that they'd spend time making such beautiful garments from my patterns. Thanks ladies! You're the bomb!

I love them both - but I think I do like Hayley's the best, I think its the contrasting fabric. I really do need to get these patterns soon!
