Sewing Classes

I teach sewing classes in both the virtual and real world. Check out my current listings below and then join me in class!

Upcoming Workshops:

Datura Tank
I love the Datura pattern from Deer & Doe Patterns and it's full of tons of intermediate building blocks. While making this lovely tank you'll learn to make bust darts, bias bound hem, and buttons up the back. And when you're done, you'll have an ideal spring and summer layer!
Wednesday, April 16, 6:30-9:30pm
4 weeks long, $155

Coco Top (or Dress!)
I'm sure by now you've seen all the adorable Coco tops and dresses on the web, based on the super pattern from Tilly & the Buttons! When I saw that this was written for sewers to make on a regular machine, I knew I had to teach it! Yep, no serger, no problem! Bring your machine and we'll make it happen!
Saturday, May 3, 3-6pm
2 weeks long, $85

Throw Pillow Covers
The easiest project-based class at Sew L.A., this is ideal for people who have just learned to sew, as we move nice and slow and I teach at a gentle pace! In this class you will learn to pivot, finish seam edges, make a basic hem, understand directional fabrics, and putting pieces properly on the grain of the fabric. In this class you'll leave with two 16" throw pillows for yourself or a gift!
Wednesday, April 2, 6:30-9pm

On-Line Workshops:

Available world-wide, check out my on-line class, The Sassy Librarian Blouse, on Craftsy! The Sassy Librarian Blouse is a 1950's-1960's inspired top, with vintage details that can be mixed and matched to either view 1 or view 2.

View 1 features a pointed flat collar and short sleeves. Both views have bust darts, release pleats on the front and back for shaping, a boatneck opening, and buttons up the front.

View 2 features a tab and bow at the neck, sleeveless armholes with contrast band, and pin tucks down the front on either side of the button placket.

Perfect for the advanced beginner, this class will teach you how to sew a set-in sleeve, bust darts, release pleats, understitching, hemming, buttonholes, and more! Get interaction with me, the instructor, as well as the 5,500+ enrolled students from around the world. I designed this pattern exclusively for Craftsy, so enroll today and get your own Sassy Librarian Blouse!
